Joining the Confraternity
By joining the Confraternity, you will be contributing to our work in support of the Santiago pilgrimage. You will receive our quarterly Bulletin free, and be entitled to our Pilgrim Passport when you make your pilgrimage. You will also be able to borrow books from our Library, and slides from our slide library. By maintaining your membership after you have made your pilgrimage, you will continue to support our work, and thus give something back to the pilgrimage.
The Confraternity is a Company Limited by Guarantee, though with Charitable
status. This means that all members accept a liability of up
to £1 in the (very unlikely) event of the Company's dissolution.
What it costs
Our membership year starts on 1st October each year, but anyone joining after 1st August is credited with two months' free membership, covering the remainder of the current membership year. You can join for a single year, but we offer a 10% discount for 3-year membership. The rates for members outside the UK and Europe reflect higher postage costs. Three categories of membership are available:
Individual membership is self-explanatory.
Joint membership is offered to 2-5 people living at the same address. One copy of the Bulletin is sent, and you may have up to 5 pilgrim records at no extra cost.
Institutional membership is for associations and groups of 6 people and more. Up to 5 pilgrim records are offered at no cost; subsequent ones cost £1 each.
The £10 joining fee is only payable in the first year of membership.
