Our 2021 Camino Book Clubs start with a discussion of this 2019 series of vignettes and stories from his own experience as well as from other pilgrims, compiled by famous Camino guide writer Johnnie Walker. Johnnie, himself, will be joining us for the discussion from Spain.  It's About Time marks his 15th book, which has been so successful it has gone to reprint and has raised over £25,000 for pilgrim charities including the CSJ.

A pilgrim's journey to Santiago de Compostela often starts with a call long before they set out on the ancient holy road. At it's heart, It's About Time is the story of a pilgrim who heard that call and what happened when he answered it. Perhaps you'll hear it too.

On his many pilgrimages on the Camino de Santiago, Johnnie Walker has met pilgrims with a wide variety of motives for walking the trail, and has gathered personal accounts of their experiences. Here he shares their stories, along with his own, and gives practical advice and encouragement to those feeling drawn to take the first step.

"This pilgrimage, with its ancient roots, implants itself in the mind and heart of those who embrace this astounding journey." - Joyce Rupp, author of Walking in a Relaxed Manner: Life Lessons from the Camino".

"I continue to imagine myself on the Camino in all seasons, at any number of familiar and sacred places and my spirit soars!" - Martin Sheen, Thomas Avery in The Way: Life is too big to walk it alone.
