The first of our day-pilgrimage this year will be a walk around Winchester. Here is a rough outline of the day:
10am - Meet at the main rail station and set off on our route, passing by the historic high street, church of St John the Baptist, along the River Itchen to St Catherine's Hill (short steep incline), then back down past the old hospital of St Cross. The walk is roughly 6 miles.
Approx 1pm - Arrive back in Winchester with some downtime for lunch and a rest.
2pm - A half-hour talk from Simon Applegarth, a Cathedral volunteer, to talk to us about pilgrimage in Winchester. Donations to the Cathedral welcome and encouraged!
