As a charity and largely volunteer organisation, we are reliant on donations to continue our work in supporting camino pilgrims before, during and after their journeys. We receive no institutional funding so the importance of these contributions can't be overstated.
By making a donation to the CSJ, you will also be safe in the knowledge that you are directly helping us in spreading the word about the camino. If you have been on camino you will know what a wonderful and life-changing experience it can be, and how important it is that we bring it to as wide an audience as possible.
There are four funds that you can donate to, and all are just as useful and appreciated:
This pays for things like:
For our General Fund, you can donate online via the button below:
Rabanal Fund and Miraz Funds
For Refugio Gaucelmo on the Camino Francés, and Albergue San Martín on the Camino del Norte, which the CSJ run:
St Christopher Fund
Our designated fund to assist physically, financially and/or socially disadvantaged camino pilgrims in whatever way we can. Whether that's for help for special equipment, organising assistance or just a contribution towards everyday expenses, this fund is for those pilgrims who otherwise wouldn't have access to the camino.
We currently don't have a way of making donations to the Rabanal, Miraz or St Christopher funds online, but you can send a cheque to the CSJ office, made out to the Confraternity of St James Ltd, along with a note that you would like your donation to go towards this particular fund. Our address can be found here.
Did you know that by shopping through Amazon Smile, you can contribute a percentage of each purchase by nominating us as your chosen charity. Just search "The Confraternity of Saint James".
Every little helps at the CSJ. No donation is too small and you will always have our thanks and appreciation. If you're a UK tax-payer, you can boost your donation by adding Gift Aid, an income tax relief, which adds a further 25% to the amount you contribute.
Many camino pilgrims who want to leave a longer-lasting contribution to the CSJ have left us legacies by including us in their wills. Previous legacies have gone towards things like appointing the current General Manager, updating office computers and repainting our London library. They are vital to advancing the work of the CSJ.
If you have benefited from our support in the past and want to give something back to your experiences, leaving a legacy is a simple but extremely impactful way of doing so. If you are planning on leaving a legacy to the CSJ, please do let us know - we would love to thank you properly!
