Johnniewalker has asked us to share the following:
"During the pandemic the best information for pilgrims and other travellers has been to follow the Government’s advice and regulations. Currently restrictions on travel within Spain are being lifted. The Government has announced that from July the country’s borders will be open to visitors from other countries. The details will be announced. Some measures will remain in place for some time – social distancing, wearing masks in certain situations and so on.
The economic consequences of the pandemic on the country are severe. No less so on the Camino. That’s why accommodation, restaurants, bars and other facilities are already opening – with the necessary health provisions in place. Many people are anxious, so I’m going to walk the Camino Francés from Saint Jean Pied de Port to Santiago in mid August. I’ll post regular reports on this website: https://wp.me/Pc4lEC-28
I also invite those who aren’t walking this year to fill my rucksack with thier thoughts, prayers and intentions. Email them to me (Johnniewalker) and these 'electronic stones' will be dedicated at the Cruz de Ferro and in Santiago."
