Our hostels

Traditional refugios provide shelter in return for a donation.  Pilgrims have the chance to relax, discuss and reflect in peaceful and spiritual surroundings.

The CSJ run two such hostels:

Refugio Gaucelmo, at Rabanal on the Camino Francés

and Albergue San Martín at Miraz on the Camino del Norte.

Run by our welcoming and friendly volunteer hospitaleros, both offer traditional-style hospitality to pilgrims walking, cycling or riding to Santiago on a first-come-first-served basis (no advance booking).

Our hospitaleros are our own members, trained by our committee.  Anyone is free to apply, find out more here.
