Pewter Brooch: Replica of Scallop Shell found in the Thames



The original of this brooch, a 15th century souvenir of a pilgrimage to Santiago,  made of pewter,  was recovered from the river Thames near London Bridge.  It features St James, dressed as a pilgrim, against the scallop-shell emblem of the pilgrimage
