The Way of Paris-Tours or Via Turonensis
A long route of c. 900 Km, the Way of Paris-Tours is one of the four traditional pilgrim routes in France. Beginning in Paris it leads you Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, the last step in France, before the Camino Frances in Spain and the route on to Santiago de Compostela. The route in this guide covers the historical route, which is managed by the Amis de Saint Jaques. Its alternative name, Via Turonensis refers to the city of Tours (tomb of Saint Martin), one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Middle Ages.
