Albergue San Martín sits at the edge of the small village of Miraz, surrounded by fields and orchards, between Baamonde and Sobrado dos Monxes, one of the most beautiful etapas on the Camino del Norte. We provide a warm, traditional welcome in a safe, clean and peaceful environment.

Pilgrims can relax here in front of a wood-burning stove when it's cold, or in the lovely garden when it's warm. It really is a tranquil gem in the middle of a remote part of Galicia.

San Martín is run as a donativo albergue, which means that pilgrims just give what they can towards their stay. We offer a simple breakfast as part of this service. There is no  shop in Miraz so the hospitaleros rely on local services for the daily bread and other provisions. The albergue requires the same amount of maintenance as any other building, so whether it's paying bills, restocking supplies for the kitchen, bathrooms and dormitories or even an emergency boiler repair, donations are an essential part of keeping the albergue running smoothly.

All donations are welcome, no matter how big or small. If you'd like to take part in our Sponsor-a-Week scheme, you can choose the £60 donation amount. You will be allocated a week in the season and our volunteers will send you a thank you email to give you some stats and stories of life in Miraz.
