Cycling the Camino de Santiago, The Way of St James-Camino Francés

Mike Wells. Cicerone Press, 2019. This guide describes two cycle routes that follow the medieval Camino Francés pilgrim way across northern Spain from St Jean-Pied-de-Port in the Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia.  The first (770km) is mostly off-road and suitable for mountain or trail bikes; the second (798km) is a more or less parallel route using quiet asphalt roads suitable for touring cycles.  Both are described in full.  Less experienced mountain-bike riders can mix and match, using the main road route to avoid the toughest off-road sections.
