United in, while at the same time separated by, guilt, James and Maria are both looking for atonement and forgiveness for an event that, unbeknown to them, links them together. In different ways, they discover and embark on the Camino to Santiago de Compostela in the hope of finding redemption, but they encounter something very different. From Malta to France and then through the north of Spain, all the way to the end of the Earth at Finisterre, where their story reaches its fateful conclusion.
