THE MARION MARPLES MEMORIAL WALK this year is being hosted by Marilyn on Friday 26th July.

We will be walking a part of the Lea Valley riverside walk from Cheshunt to Rye House. The walk is approximately 6 miles in length along the River Lea.

We start at Liverpool Street Station, taking the 10.33am Hertford East train from Liverpool Street platform 2 arriving Cheshunt at 11.13am. (Check board at station to confirm the platform on the day) Buy an off-peak day return to Rye House.

Lunch will be at The Crown pub in Broxbourne, a beautiful old riverside pub. After lunch we will have a guided tour of Broxburne's church, St. Augustine's - the current structure dates to 1460 and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book.

We will stop again for tea at Rye House before we get the train back to London.

For those with energy to spare Rye Meads Nature Reserve is a delightful wetland reserve, a firm favourite for walkers, photographers and birdwatchers.

Frequent trains back to London from Rye House Station situated yards from the towpath and pub tea stop.

See you either on the train, or at Cheshunt off the train! Marilyn.
