In Portuguese, the Caminho Central is an historic route from Porto, northwards for 252km through Barcelos, Ponte de Lima, Rubiaes, crossing the border from Valença to Tui, then on to Redondela where the camino joins with the coastal route, up through Pontevedra, Caldas de Reis and Padrón. The second most popular route to Santiago after the Camino Francés.
Contains line maps, height profiles, photographs, accommodation details and facilities. This guide also contains information on the Spiritual Variant from Vilanova de Arousa by boat up to Padrón, via the estuary up which the body of St James was said to have travelled in a stone boat.
